Spread the love

Some couples don’t need much convincing when the chance comes up to dress up, slow down, and celebrate their love all over again.

Shayla and Sam are exactly those people.

Married for six years, the idea of getting dressed up and pretending to get married again honestly wasn’t even a question. It was an immediate yes. Watching them slip right back into that wedding-day energy, the quiet glances, the laughter, the ease between them made it feel so natural. Nothing forced. Nothing awkward. Just two people who have grown together and still choose each other every day.

Even though this was a styled shoot, it never felt stiff or overly posed. It was intentionally planned and beautifully curated by Kayla of Ninth Avenue Studios, but it still felt relaxed, creative, and full of heart, which is exactly what made it so special to be a part of.

Lawrence House — A Dreamy Saskatoon Wedding Venue

The Lawrence House in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is one of those venues that speaks for itself.

The architecture is stunning; tall windows, historic details, textured walls, and the kind of natural light that photographers dream about. Every space feels warm and inviting while still being elevated and timeless.

You don’t need to overdo it here. The building already brings so much character, which makes it the perfect backdrop for couples who want something romantic, editorial, and full of feeling without being over-the-top.

Thoughtfully Curated

Shayla and Sam weren’t trying to play a role — they were just being themselves. Laughing, moving together, soaking it all in. That’s what made the images feel honest and emotional instead of staged.

There was space to slow down. To let moments unfold naturally. To create something beautiful without rushing through it.

That balance — between intention and authenticity — is where the magic really lives.

One of my favourite parts of days like this is getting to work alongside other creatives who truly care about what they do.

This shoot brought together such an incredible group of vendors, and the energy was unmatched:

  • Planning & Styling: Ninth Avenue Studios @ninthavenuestudios
  • Florals: Full Bloom Floral Co. @fullbloomfloral.yxe
  • Hair & Makeup: Faces by Chauntay @facesbychauntay
  • Dress & Veil: UnVeiled Dress Co @unVeileddressco
  • Creative Collaboration: The Arts Collective @thearts.collective
  • Models Sam & Shayla (@samj45 & @shayla_watson_jean)

Getting to connect, create, and make art with likeminded people is something I never take for granted, and I already can’t wait for the next one.

For Couples Planning Their Wedding

If you’re planning your wedding and want it to feel elevated but still relaxed and true to you, start with intention. Choose vendors who care about storytelling. Trust your vision. Let the day unfold.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding day that feels natural, emotional, and beautifully documented — I’d love to be part of it.
