Some wedding days are just pure magic—even when the skies open up and the weather throws a curveball. That was exactly the case for Kirstin + Sanfred, two of the most effortlessly in-love and joy-filled humans I’ve had the absolute honor of photographing.

As a Saskatchewan wedding photographer, I’ve seen firsthand how prairie weather can flip on a dime—and this wedding was no exception. But what made this day unforgettable wasn’t just how beautiful it was, but how beautifully it was handled. Kirstin embraced the rain with so much grace and joy. She was calm, carefree, and just completely present. And when the bride rolls with the punches? Everyone else follows her lead.

We kicked off the day at the elegant Hotel Saskatchewan, where Kirstin got ready surrounded by her girls. Hunter Pickering MUA and Pauline Fe absolutely nailed the glam—Kirstin looked like a walking editorial, glowing and radiant, with that “I’m about to marry my person” energy beaming from her.

What made this wedding especially unique was the intimacy woven into every part of the day. Before heading to the venue, Kirstin and Sanfred chose to have a private ceremony in their hotel room, just them and their wedding party. It was officiated by their best friend Lexy, and it was one of the most emotional, heartfelt moments I’ve ever witnessed. There was something so sacred about it—no big audience, no pressure, just two people making promises in a room full of love.

Later that day, we headed to the Wascana Country Club for their official ceremony, which was beautifully officiated by Sanfred’s auntie Kathy. It felt like the perfect balance—quiet, meaningful moments followed by a joyful, love-filled celebration with all their favorite people.

The intentional details throughout the day were honestly incredible. From the stunning florals by Wascana Flower Shoppe, to the heartfelt speeches, to the warm, cozy vibe of the whole event—every piece of the puzzle was placed with care. Nothing felt cookie-cutter. Everything felt like them.

Despite the rain, we found dreamy little corners at Hotel Saskatchewan for portraits. Umbrellas in hand, wind in the veil, and laughter between the raindrops—Kirstin and Sanfred made it look effortless. Their connection is the kind you feel—quietly powerful and deeply genuine.

Their reception was a vibe. You could feel how deeply loved and supported these two are by their people. The energy was high, the smiles were nonstop, and every single guest was just so happy to be witnessing their love story unfold.
