There is something so special about photographing love on the land where that love grew — and Payton & Eric’s engagement session north of Eyebrow, Saskatchewan was exactly that kind of magic.

As a Saskatchewan Wedding photographer, some of my favorite sessions are the ones rooted in the prairies — the wind, the wide-open skies, the rolling pastures, and that feeling of home. And Eric’s family farm was the perfect place to tell a story that already means so much to them.

We started their engagement session in true Saskatchewan fashion: wild winds whipping through the fields, enough to make most people call it quits… but not these two. Payton and Eric showed up smiling, ready for anything, and totally trusting the process — which is every photographer’s dream. Eventually, we found a covered spot tucked into the pasture where the wind softened just enough for the cozy, intimate moments to come through.

As the evening settled, the wind calmed and the golden light slowly began to pour across the landscape. We popped some Baby Duck (a very Saskatchewan romance move 😂), wandered through the pastures, and let the session unfold naturally — laughing, exploring, slowing down, and celebrating this chapter of their lives.

By the time we reached the top of the hill for sunset, the prairies were glowing. That dreamy, cinematic golden hour wrapped around them as if it was made for their session. The way they move together — gentle, steady, completely in tune — made every single frame feel emotional and effortless. Their love is soft but powerful, the kind that translates into photos you can actually feel.

I am obsessed with the way they look at each other, the way Eric instinctively pulls Payton close when the wind picks up, and how naturally they fell into every moment. Sessions like this remind me why I love doing what I do — capturing connection in a place that already holds so much meaning.
